I am trying to Download/Upload data from a Geodimeter CU to a laptop or PC using Data Transfer. Each time I have tried to create the connection I find myself trying all kinds of variations such as removing ActiveSync, putting Data Transfer in C drive instead of C:\program files. Sometimes the connection works with no changes to the computer, other times I need to make one or a number of changes. Lately I have discovered that Trimble Geometrics Office does not work with Nortons software. Is there any correct sequence of setting up a computer?

I have been running TGO with Norton for years with no problems, so I don't believe that is the issue. ActiveSync can tie up the com ports and if you are trying to run both Activesync and your CU into a dedicated com port, you may want to google a utility called Kill Activesync. It will shut down AS without uninstalling it and may make your life a little easier.
