Multitrack Target vs. Target ID and 360 prism
Question:Multitrack Target vs. Target ID and 360 prism
What are the advantages of using the Trimble Multi Track target over the original Target ID and 360 prism?
The Multi Track Target is an active target omni directional similar to the Trimble 5600. This means you do not have to face the instrument when the instrument is searching for the target. Both target systems allows the operator the ability to dial in 8 unique signals that customize the target to the instrument. Eight signals allows for up to 8 Trimble S6 robotic instruments on one job site and no instrument would ever track another person’s target. Although both targets offer 8 unique signals the Target ID system is mono directional meaning that the operator must face the instrument when searching and the instrument must verify the target ID number before locking on and taking a distance measurement. Since the Multi Track is omni directional the instrument can verify the target and take the shot simultaneously adding both speed and convenience. Bottom line, speed, flexibility and performance make the Multi Track target a better solution.
