So you’re the one that bought that South instrument. I have not experimented with the South brand of Total Stations however if you set up a Survey Style with the Trimble Survey Controller you can create a custom instrument. All we would need to know from South is the com settings; parity, baud rate etc. and we should be able to communicate with the instrument. Another consideration is the data port on the instrument and if there is a compatible cable between the data collector and instrument.
